SRI is a world leader in the development of technologies that facilitate real-time communication between people who do not share a common language. SRI's translation research is funded by DARPA through the Spoken Language Communication and Translation System for Tactical Use (TRANSTAC) and Compact Aids for Speech Translation (CAST) programs, supplemented by funding from the Language and Speech Exploitation Resources (LASER) ACTD.
