I have not had this problem myself, but I'm passing it on just in case.

Hi Andreas!

While installing the new 1.5.0 sri toolkit I had an issue with the
dircolors command, which terminated most of the scripts with an "unknown
colorls variable `su'" exception (already reported by a few others such
as http://www.cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2006-01/msg00767.html).

I could fix the issue by
export LS_COLORS=''
before compiling, in case anybody else experiences this problem.

Thanks for providing this cool tookit, I'm using it almost every day.
Best,
Ronny

p.s.: why don't you try to guess at the location of g++/gcc by something
like CXX=`which g++`? (would not have worked in my case, though :)
