The following published packages and patches extended SRILM's functionality:

• LSA-based semantic LM (documentation) (Pucher, 2005)
• Random forest LM (Su et al., 2007; Xu & Jelinek, 2004)
• LM smoothing using hierarchical Pitman-Yor process and power law discounting (Huang and Renals, 2008)
• Maximum entropy LMs (Alumäe and Kurimo, 2010)
