Background

Xin Lei received his BS degree from Tsinghua University in 1999, and PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington in 2006. During his PhD study, he worked on Mandarin large vocabulary continuous speech recognition. Prior to joining SRI, he was with Microsoft Speech Components Group from 2006 to 2008, where he designed and implemented the online speaker adaptation module for Microsoft telephony speech recognition server, and also engaged in various acoustic modeling topics for voicemail recognition in Exchange server.
