The size of the outermost purple rectangle is 13" x 11" and its
horizontal side is hopefully parallel to the base of your computer
monitor.
Euclid, the great Greek mathematician, is best known for his
treatise, the Elements. In Book IX, he proved ingeniously that there
are an infinity of prime numbers (Proposition 20). This is still
regarded today as one of the most beautiful mathematical proofs ever
constructed. Here is an informal statement: Suppose there is some
maximal prime P. Let N be the product of all primes at
most equal to P. Then N+1 is indivisible by any prime
less than or equal to P since it will leave a remainder of one
in each case. Therefore N+1 is itself a prime larger than
P, or has as a factor some prime larger than P. Hence
our assumption that there is some maximal prime P is false.

Nautilus: The beautiful pearly, or chambered, nautilus has a
smooth, coiled shell about 25 cm (10 inches) in diameter, consisting
of about 36 chambers, the outermost of which it lives in. These
chambers are connected by a tube that adjusts the amount of gases in
them, allowing the shell to act as a float. The last surviving genus
of the ancient order Nautiloidea, Nautilus is important in
paleontology for dating the strata in which it appears.
