This applet is doing audio capture in JAVA using Netscape's Liveconnect. The audio capture is actually performed by a native shared library integrated in a plugin. With Liveconnect, an applet can call methods from the library and get the recorded samples.
The purpose of this demonstration is just to show that an applet can do audio capture and get the samples.
Instructions
- If you haven't installed the audio plugin on your machine yet, do it now.
- Click on the record button and speak.
- Click on stop when you finish speaking. The waveform should appear in the black panel.
- Click on play to listen to the waveform.
- The applet expects that your microphone is plugged in "line in". If your microphone is plugged in "mic", check the Mic option in the applet.
- You can adjust the recording and playback levels if necessary.
